Music Classes

Participants and their parents (if participant is under 18) permit the taking of photos, audio and videotapes during RLAC activities for publication and use as RLAC deems necessary. If you do not want a picture or video taken of yourself, please inform the director or instructor prior to the start of the program.  

Session 1

Registration will be open December 8 - January 6.

Classes will begin the week of January 11 and will run for 6 weeks.

Folk Songs and More

Mondays

5:30-6pm

 3rd - 5th Grades  Ms. Kirsten  Do you love to sing? Come join Ms. Kirsten and learn basic singing technique and music reading skills while singing fun songs. Songs will include "This Land is Your Land," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," and "Lean on Me" and more! $50  $60

Recorders

*Students need to have their own soprano recorder 

Mondays

6-6:30pm 

 3rd-5th GradesMs. Kirsten Recorders are a fun way to apply music reading skills to a beginner wind instrument. Come learn proper playing technique and music reading skills. This class is great for kids who have already played recorder in music class or who are brand new to the instrument.   $50$60 
 Bucket Drumming

Mondays

6:30-7pm 

Grades 3rd - 5th Ms. Kirsten Come learn basic percussion skills while focusing on rhythmic patterns and ensemble playing. We will use common household items (buckets) to create fun and engaging music. All materials are provided for this class. $50 $60 


Session 7

Registration will be open October 6 - October 28.

Classes will begin the week of November 2 and will run for 6 weeks.

There will not be classes the week of  Thanksgiving. 


A soprano ukulele is required for this course.

 3rd - 5th Grades  Ms. Kirsten  Ukulele is a great way for upper elementary students to learn about music and start performing! This course is designed for students brand new to ukulele or wanting a refresher. Students will learn about proper maintenance, technique, and the following chords: C, C7, F, G, G7, Am. $50  $60


Session 7

Registration will be open October 6 - October 28.

Classes will begin the week of November 2 and will run for 6 weeks.

There will not be classes the week of  Thanksgiving.
